Rebate allocation is on a first come, first served basis from 1 April until 31 December 2024 and successfully commission their solar PV system installations by 31 March 2025, or until all SolaRIS rebate quotas are fully distributed, which ever come first.

A cash rebate of up to RM4,000 will be given to residential customers who submit Net Energy Metering (NEM) application to Sustainable Energy Development Authority (SEDA) Malaysia from 1 April 2024 onwards and successfully commission their solar PV system installations with TNB.

There is no need to apply for NEM. However, for PV systems with capacity above 72 kW, a generating license (private) from ST is required and subject to the relevant rules under the Electricity Supply Act (ESA).
