Understanding and mitigating thermal effects on solar cells is crucial for advancing the efficiency and reliability of solar energy systems. Solar cells, as the fundamental components of photovoltaic technology, exhibit intricate connections to temperature variations, significantly impacting their performance (Additional files 1 , 2 , 3 , 4 ).

The purpose of this study is to investigate the reduction in CEH due to SEASW (Creduction) in the hot summer and cold winter zone. In this study, three potential influencing factors (i.e., sunny day ratio, thermal insulation form, h) were analyzed to obtain reliable and applicable results for Creduction.

The generation of power in PV panels results in significant heat production as solar energy is converted into electricity throughout the system. This heat modifies the thermal properties of building envelopes and is subsequently transferred through the building and its surroundings, ultimately influencing indoor air temperatures, cooling loads .

Our test setup shows that when solar PV panels are combined with torched fly-ash tiles, power generation rises by 7% and surface temperature decreases by 3% when compared to standard panels. The enhanced PV efficiency is ascribed to the outstanding thermal insulation properties of fly ash tiles and their capacity to control panel temperature.
